Move-in checklist for your first Manila dorm
Exactly what to bring, what to check on day one, and how to file a dispute in the 24-hour window.

Before move-in day
- Confirm your move-in date with the landlord — both of you need to check in on the unidorms.ph dashboard to start the 24-hour fraud-protection window.
- Take screenshots of the listing photos and amenities. You’ll compare them against the actual unit when you arrive.
- Bring a printed copy (or screenshot) of your reservation reference number — it makes everything faster at the door.
What to bring
- Government ID (for KYC re-verification if needed).
- Photocopy of your enrollment slip — most landlords ask for it.
- Bedsheet, pillow, towel — not always provided in shared rooms.
- Power strip + extension cord — older buildings have 1–2 outlets per room.
- Bottled water for the first day (water lines can take a day to clear).
Check before you sign
- Run the shower and toilet — both should work without delay.
- Test the Wi-Fi on your phone — confirm the speed matches what the listing said.
- Open every drawer and cabinet. Aircon? Run it for 5 minutes; should cool the room.
- Take dated photos of any pre-existing damage and send to the landlord via the unidorms.ph chat.
If something’s wrong
- You have 24 hours after move-in confirmation to file a dispute. File through your Student Dashboard → your reservation → Report an issue.
- Common grounds: unit materially different from photos, denied access, serious safety/sanitation issues, false location/commute claims.
- "Changed my mind" is not a valid ground (per our policy).
